Amoxicillin (AMOX) is difficult to be dissolved in solvents. However, I need to prepare the AMOX-MIPs using acetonitrile as the porogen. I did read one article where the AMOX can be dissolved in acetonitrile by forming the AMOX salt first. I tried to from the AMOX salts by reacting the antibiotic with tetrabutylammonium bromide, unfortunately it is not as expected. The suspension did not turn into clarified solution as I kept adding the tetrabutylammonium bromide. So, how can I rectify this problem. Thank you.
