Can anyone inform if "advanced research in gastroenterology & hepatology" is considered as predatory journal ? according to our findings, the publisher "Juniper" is considered as such.
As indicated by Anton Vrdoljak and yourself the publisher behind the journal is mentioned in the Beall’s list. As by ‘definition’ and I quote: “All journals published by a predatory publisher are potentially predatory unless stated otherwise” (see https://beallslist.net/ ). Mentioned in the Beall’s list is a red flag but there are more:
-Prominently mentioning PubMed indexed papers is misleadingly suggesting a ‘real’ PubMed indexing but the mentioned indexing is because of NIH funding of one or more of the authors and has nothing to do with the journal(s).
-Contact info suggests nice residences but no real(istic) office address
-Journal shows numerous misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/) on their indexing site https://juniperpublishers.com/member-in.php like DRJI and Citefactor
-Prominently mentioned (https://juniperpublishers.com/argh/) impact factor is fake
