Hi all,

I am interested in techniques for the compression of time signals.

Under steady-state conditions Fourier Transform (FT) is the most powerful tool to keep only the relevant information. However, its ability to track power quality events is almost null.

In the literature a good work on compression strategies for Power Quality events is "F. Lorio and F. Magnago, Analysis of Data Compression Methods for Power Quality Events". The problem is that it is quite old and it lacks of new techniques, like Compressive Sensing (CS).

Do you know about a comparison between CS and well-known techniques like EZW?

Regards

Alberto
