16 February 2017 3 9K Report

Hello,

my name is Laura Morillas and I work as a postdoctoral fellow for University of British Columbia. I participate in a project in Costa Rica called Futuragua that focus in several aspects of drought in the region of Guanacaste (Futuragua.ca) and next May we will start a new project in the same region called AgWit focussed on Agricultural water resilience to drought. I just new about your project and I thing there might be room for potential collaboration. We run two eddy covariance towers for measuring evapotranspiration and carbon fluxes in two croplands in Guanacaste, one at El Viejo sugarcane farm (within Tempisque-Arenal watershed, your study area) and another near Nicoya at Costeña rice/melon farm. The two tower sites have been running continuously from July 2014, so we have  evapotranspiration data from 2015,  2016  and future years that might be of interest for validation of your ArcSWAT outputs. Feel free to contact me at: [email protected] in case of interest on potential collaboration. Any way I thought it would be good to let you know that we have been and will be working in similar topics within the same region.  Very best,
