Why most researchers post working papers on SSRN before submitting them to journals?
What is the benefit of posting papers on SSRN ?
Can I say that those researchers do this to announce that their posted papers on SSRN are conducted by themsilves. Therefore, their ideas in posted papers will be protected from being stolen?
Can anyone steal my posted paper on SSRN to publish it in another journal using his name?
In my opinion is not at all safe to put your idea in the open forum before publication.
Put your paper at SSRN will increase visibility of your work, be it post- or preprint. If you prefer not to open your work before classic publishing you can consider using SSRN as a postprint repository server.
