We use PBN graphite heaters for effusion cells but the cooling rate is not as desired. What are the possible modifications that can be done to the heater to achieve more swift cooling?
The simplest way to achieve this would be to reduce your vacuum pressure - partially valve off the pumps and / or allow a flow of clean gas into the system.
In order to control the heating or cooling rate of a body then you have to make its heat capacity as small as possible. Then one can better control the heating up or the cooling down rate. The control is a achieved by varying the electrical fed power to the heater. One way to reduce the heat capacity is to use Peltier elements. One can also use inductive heating or intensive light heating.
