Say I have Locus A with two alleles (A1 and A2) Locus B with 2 alleles (B1 and B2). Then the number of multilocus gametoypes is 2*2 = 4, that is: A1B1, A1B2, A2B1 and A2B2.
Now say I have Locus A with n1 alleles and Locus B with n2 alleles. Then the number of multilocus gametoypes is n1*n2. What is the number of possible multilocus genotypes?
How do you generalize this to more than two loci ?
