Hi everyone, I’ve recently experienced contamination in my podocyte cell culture, and my colleague suspects it might be yeast. I’m trying to understand what could have caused this contamination. The cells were handled under sterile conditions, and the media and reagents were freshly prepared. One important detail: I haven’t used any antibiotics in the culture medium. What are the most common sources or causes of yeast contamination in cell culture? Any tips on how to prevent this in the future would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
