In my opinion, the combination of technologies typical of the technological revolution known as Industry 4.0 may turn out to be one of the key determinants of civilization progress in the 21st century.

The technological revolution in recent years, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
Big Data database technologies, cloud computing, machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence.
In addition, in the knowledge-based economy, the important areas of knowledge and technologies that are developed are primarily the development of data processing analytics in Business Intelligence enterprises, the development of life science technologies, biotechnology, eco-innovation, energy, medical intelligence, etc.
On the basis of the development of the new technological solutions mentioned in recent years, the processes of innovatively organized analyzes of large information collections gathered in Big Data database systems dynamically develop.

The conservation and preservation of the environment is a concern that affects of all us. Up to this moment, we, representatives of the human race, are unable to administrate wisely and efficiently our planet and its natural resources. The future generations deserve to live in a clean, healthy, and an appropriate environment that guarantees their ability to continue the path of the human race to find out how the universe works. We represent the way for the universe to know itself. We do not have, in the near future, another planet to go. So we need to concentrate our efforts to save the one we have. If we have the ability and responsibility to do so, then, I think, quantum computers can change the world in an unpredictable way, something unimaginable. Mathematical and natural sciences will experience an enormous development and the scientific and technological achievements of our civilization will be remarkable, something never seen before. Among those achievements we can mention interplanetary travel, ability to defeat death and live for much longer periods of time, complete understanding of how the human brain works, and the ability to know the destiny of our vast universe in which is hidden infinitely many secrets to be discovered; in a word, the ability to predict scientifically our own destiny.
Education for everyone, that's the key to being able to fix our future

Even though I had already answered to your question I would want to add something more to it. We all know that there is a culture of war, not a culture of peace, all over the world. It suffices to say that most of the countries spend more resources in military affairs than in education, even though only education can save societies and even individuals from posssible collapse, be it violent or gradual. That Collier's Encycopedia devotes about 30 pages to war and war-related activities and has no entry on the concept of peace only compounds my idea that we live in a culture of war, not peace. Also, the heroes of peace look pale when compared to heroes of war,
As see it, the current culture of war has to be replaced by a culture of peace such that we have a better world.

For better changes world wide, we need to phase out non rebewable sources of energy and replace them with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

As I see it, education is the key to change the cuurent world. Jean Piaget, for example, once remaked that only education can save socities and individuals from possible colllapse, be it violent or gradual. Of course, education is costly but it is far less costly that its alternative, ignorance. When I think of education, I think of it in intellectual, emotional, and environmental terms. Given the climate changes that are happening everywhere and its detrimental effects on people's health and the evironment, ecological education should be mandatory at all levels of schooling. If we continue to pollute water, air and the soil we risk destryoing the cosmic order and harmony that seems to rule the entire universe.

I have a perspective and approach on the "macro-'level'" (here, meaning: an inclusive, all-encapsulating "containing system") for Cognitive Developmental Psychology (i.e. for cognitive development, ontogeny; and, also, it is so concrete that it is also good for AI) . Though encapsulating a lot (all that's most central and important) this system for discovery and understanding has MUCH more empirically grounded hypotheses than exists (or can/would be) the evidence for anything else of any major importance in any Psychology. In fact, it is the absolute highest level and best empirical evidence for a basis or foundation of/for major qualitative cognitive changes: Each being GROUNDED (at least at inception) IN DIRECTLY OBSERVABLE BEHAVIOR PATTERNS (though these are subtle and the new eye-tracking technology, etc. would almost certainly be involved).

The world could be better than it is if, say, the gospel of greed, money, corruption competition, war, and the like was replaced by the gospel of love, compassion, justice cooperation, and peace. It incumbs upon us all to do our best such that the latter is the case.
