I recently encounter a devastating insect. I want to know more to control it. Any one familiar with the insect pest?
As far as I can see from the picture, they look like larvae and pupae of Xhantogaleruca luteola. Normally this species pest of oak trees.
However their color are looks like more different. Maybe they suffer from the viral or fungal disease.
To control this serious insect pest, biopesticides (Ivermectiens, Spinosad, etc.) or less hazardous chemical pesticides (minimum concentration) can be tested.
Xhantogaleruca luteola is ok.
Dear Daniel Hagos Berhe
Thank you for sharing us the information. I suggest it is much better if you send us the specimens for accurate identification of the pest.
