I have an untreated graphitic material which I functionalised. I was expecting the D band to have increased compared to the G band, however, it doesn't seem to have, although the intensity of all bands has increased. Please could somebody advise to whether these spectra differ at all?

The graphitic material I had initially seems to have been very defective in the first place, and also consists of many layers, although I'm not sure of the arrangement of these. If a small amount of functionalisation had occurred on the graphitic sheets, would this be obvious?
