If it is a simple case of fold reduction or shifts in community you would need to extract the bacterial community from the cavity using something like saline, split the sample and then treat one with your nanoparticles for a time period before dilution and plating to do a cfu count.

I think I will need to extract the biofilm forming bacteria from the cavities and then treat with synthesized nanoparticles. Something like that. Thank you so much Dr Brinzer for your interest.
