Dear colleagues!

Recently our trusty plate reader Tecan Sunrise finally died (actually, the light optic channels died, but that seems to be the most expensive part of the device). We have other plate reader in the lab (BMG Clariostar Plus) but, despite its multimode capabilities, the speed and precision of its measurements are significantly lower.

This is due to the 12-channel optic cable in Tecan Sunrise, splitting light from the lamp into 12 smaller beams, which allows simultaneous measurement of 12 wells in 96-well plate, while other plate readers measure aborbance/fluorescence/... only in one well at a time and then move to the next one.

Are there any other plate readers that have multichannel optics and measure 8/12 wells simultaneously, similar to Tecan Sunrise, which are still manufactured? We need one which measures at least absorbance at 340 nm.
