I need a list of plant biomarkers which are responsible for nephroprotective activity. If anyone has any information regarding this then please respond as soon as possible.
You can go through the following link which is actually a question asked by me on RG regarding the plants used for nephroprotective and nephrocurative properties.
This will provide you with a overview of the plants used for kidney diseases and an insight into the available literature about these plants will render important information about the markers which can be useful for your studies. These plants are suggested by the experts in the field and although this is not as direct information as you needed about the markers, still I believe this will help you a lot in your search for the biomarkers available for nephroprotection.
Nephroprotection is generally attributed to antioxidaant property of plants. So Antioxidant flavonoids like Rutin Quercetin Quercetrin, Kempferol and stilbenes like resveretrol can be tried. There are many more. Lupeol a steroidal compound has also been shown to have the activity you can try.
Garlic extract (Allium sativum) and aminoguanidine effect expression of VEGF and ERK1 are nephroprotective markers. This protection comes due to antioxidant property of natural plant products such as flavonoids, rutin, lupeol and others. Sildenafil, the oldest approved Phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that is a good marker of nephroprotection. malondialdehyde, a biomarker of oxidative stress is also an indicator of nephrotoxocity. Its inhibitor will be a good marker dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors shows protective effect on the diabetic kidney disease.
Kindly find the attached article on page no 6 under renal diseases where alkaline nature ash of plant species of Sesamum indicium, Hordeum vulgare, Citrus lemon, Varuna ( Crataeva nurvala ), Kapikachhu ( Mucuna pruriens ), Bala ( Sida cordifolia), Jatamansi ( Nardostachys jatamansi ) have been described in an Ayurveda Classical literature Rasa Tarangini.
