Well, I appreciate your insightful question. The choice of the mode (s) of teaching and learning is/are driven by the educational, social, economic, cultural, among other variables. The presential mode is more human, authentic, interactive, and direct compared to the virtual. As a matter of fact, blended teaching and learning seems to be the alternative when the face-to-face mode cannot be maintained. Personnally speaking, I met many challenges in going virtual with my classrs amid the pandemic. How do you perceive of these modes of instruction and learning?

The mode of delivery normally is determined by your institution. If you are asking which one is better, that might lead to grand debate. Of course, we would need to discuss your philosophy of learning. Is your course teacher-centered or learner-centered? Is it about them learning or you teaching? Often this will determine the best mode. Either way, it really depends on what your learning outcomes are, and yet there is good and bad in all modes. How's that for calculated vagueness? Basically, your mode does not matter. Learners engaging with each other, with you, and with content, is what matters. Who uses chalk, lol Why not focus on having your learners DO SOMETHING with your theory?

There is no denying the pros and cons of each mode of education.

The choice of the best is related to the objective of the educational process, in addition to the nature of the scientific material and also the sample concerned with learning.

If we recognize the inevitability of distance teaching, given the requirements of the current stage, this does not eliminate the disadvantages of this pattern, perhaps the most prominent of which is its lack of various communication skills, as participation and expressing an opinion in the classroom raises the learner's self-confidence and gives him other skills in addition to the scientific content.

In my case, the University of Extremadura online training is growing by leaps and bounds. More and more degrees are taught online. However, by not working in person, I believe that teacher/student trust and camaraderie and empathy among students are lost.

Physical presence in the class is much better compared to Online lectures, because of the following reasons, first..,The role of classroom in the learning process, as everyone knows that classroom setting itself lets learners to learn more comfortably with their facilitator/teacher and this this allows face to face questions and illustrations between the two. Secondly, online lectures apart from being expensive, it does not allow face to face interaction between the learners and their teacher

I would prefer physical presence because of eye contact, direct reactions and answers due to the presence, a better communication between all the actors, but a blended learning could be a possible form of teaching for special topics or in some subjects to raise self managment

Alright, the choice of mode of teaching and learning depends on the nature of teachers, students, as well as learning materials. Some teachers are naturally reluctant to adapt online mode. The same to students. Also, taking experience in our developing country, undergoing online mode is little bit challenging...probably due to shortage of facilities, low and unreliable network coverage as well as inadequate teachers training on the use of online mode of teaching and learning like zoom.

Thanks Paskali and Bendaoud for your insights that taking learning 100% online privileges those with access to computers and reliable internet coverage. Personally i love in-person teaching and learning. The etheric body is impacted by voice through the sound waves in ways we've not yet researched. So as Getu suggests, it's probably not so much a case of 'either or' but 'both and' ... if we can get our equity issues sorted.

Physical lectures are more valuable, but also online lectures are proving to be successful in some areas, as it gives an opportunity to use ICT resources in the learning process as a didactic tool.

The answer is; hybrid education!

Back when I was younger, I thought that the only way to teach was on ground, face-to-face. I needed to "see" students to assess if/how well they were learning. I hated online teaching. Then I got older and developed some 'infirmities' that made face-to-face difficult, so I reasoned with myself that if I wanted to continue to teach, I had better learn to love online. And I did. I incorporated many of my on-ground techniques into my online courses and they worked quite well. That included connecting discussion board comments between students so that the back-and-forth that used to help in the lecture hall can work as well, maybe better, online (no one interrupts the speaker). It is a lot of work for me to read each post and to find connections to make, but the richness of the learning is well worth it. That's a long answer to your question. The short answer is a resounding "Yes!"

Both the learning platform are equally important for effective teaching learning environment. However, I can see more weightage in physical classroom teaching because students can interact with the teachers which creates the good relation between them. Moreover, they can do the collaborative work together.
