There has already been evidence, that IgA, IgM, IgE can be found in human breastmilk after an infection with COVID19 as well as after vaccination. Therefore different scientific medical organizations such as ACOG, DGGG and OEGGG, recommend to vaccinate women even if breastfeeding. Babys may take advantage in case of an infection although only few severe courses are reported.

A good point is presented above that despite COVID-19 or vaccines not crossing through breastfeeding, IgA, IgM and IgE do. Therefore there is still benefit. This also adds to the argument that mothers should receive the vaccine.

The manufacturers of the vaccines have warned against taking by nursing mothers due to possibilty of being present in breast milk though, the possible effect in the baby is still being studied.

In fact, they just say, that there is not enough data for a reliable recommendation, (which certainly is true), so they don't give any (which seems logical, especially when thinking about legal issues).

Organizations like ACOG, RKI or DGGG make their recommendations based on knowledge of biological mechanisms of the vaccines, the little data which is already available and experiences with comparable vaccines. And, recommend to consider potential benefits (e.g. mothers with high comorbidity) against potential risks. They also say, that an interruption or stop of breastfeeding due to vaccination is not necessary.

Corona virus vaccines have not been well studied, therefore is better and safer to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

As corona virus is still studied and no more clear evidence on the safety of the vaccine to the adults, i would recommend to remain with manufacturers recommendations to intra-utero life and breast feeding babies.

Indeed one has to keep in mind that this virus is not well understood, to include the vaccine and its side effects. Most substances from research, will tell you that it is very easy for substances to be transferred via breastmilk.

There is no current evidence of covid 19 vaccine crossing to the breastmilk thus the baby can't get it through breastfeeding. In any case strict compliance to manufacturer's recommendation is advised.

Yes!! There's a possibility of passing the passive immunity from the vaccinated mother to the newborn baby.

Pregnant women and lactating mothers as well as children are being advised by the manufacturers not to take the covid vaccines for now since research is still being carried out on that. Besides this there's a high risk of pregnant and lactating mothers to pass onto their children through breastfeeding whatever they consume especially drugs.

It is very unlikely that any vaccine should be ingested through breast milk because the dose is very small.

Although few recent studies indicate this fact that there are chances of passive transfer of SARS-CoV -2 IgG antibodies from mothers to infants through breastfeeding; but like many other hidden facts related to the long-term effect of vaccination, this fact is also still under its evolving stage.
