Is it reliable measure pH, with a pHmeter, in aqueous solution containing small organic molecules, such as formic acid or methanol? The presence of organic may cause some interference in the electrode of the pHmeter?
organic molecules are themselves involved in acid-base reactions so this is an interference on itself. In my field of work this is a major probelm, check out this paper:
