In biofloc aquaculture systems that depending on rice brane specially, pH gradually decrease. What is the most suitable addition to increase pH? and how i can do this in detailed?
Potassium carbonate or hydrated Lime are useful as additives to raise ph. I would recommend alternating them each month or you may begin to see nutrient problems in your plants associated with "too high" levels or K or Ca. Keeping the PH level at ~ 6.3 seems to be a sweet spot for nutrient uptake in greenery.
To ensure optimum use of the rice bran because decomposition of unused or non - utilized feed in the tank tend to alter pH levels towards negative side. The pH level can be increased with optimum lime application depending on water volume and regular monitoring day & night.
