I don't think so. Considering this disease, gout occurs predominantly when MSU crystals activate joint cells, causing arthritis. In this case, the injection of crystals into joint cavities is more appropriate. On the other hand, other compartments are useful to identify mechanisms of MSU-associated inflammation, as air pouch and peritoneal cavities.
