I have checked that there are several FISH probe sets for the detection of the Defluvicoccus, a group of GAOs in the EBPR reactors, while have no luck in finding some PCR and q-PCR primer sets for the Defluvicoccus assays, any information or experience on the assay of the Defluvicoccus in EBPR reactors would be highly appreciated.
apart from the detection of total Tetraspharea, are there primers sets that specifically target the different clades of Tetraspharea?

Is possible if you know some sequence of Defluvicoccus (or you try to find the sequence in NCBI), try to draw the primer in the region are ugual for all Defluvicoccus and before order try to blast the sequence of this primer vs whole database to sure that this primer amplifiies only the organism Defluvicoccus.
