Hey, I'm currently working on a project that mainly focuses on AFM measurements.

Basically I have a gold substrate with immobilised ACE 2 and the cantilever with spike protein to measure their bonding behaviour. The measurement is done submerged in PBS buffer. However the PBS buffer has proven to be difficult to work with since there's always a lot of salt residue on various components of the AFM after the measurements.

Does anyone know if i could just dilute the buffer to lower the salt concentration or know of any alternative buffers with lower salt concentrations that i could use?

Thanks in advance :)
