Would anyone have a table of cell types frequencies within human PBMCs? or point me in the right direction.
I'm looking at more markers than the ones below:
Lymphocytes: 70-90% of PBMCs
70-85% are CD3+ (45-70% of PBMCs): 25-60% of PBMCs are CD3+CD4+, 5-30% of PBMCs are CD3+CD8+ (ratio CD4/CD8: 2:1)
5-20% are B cells (

I am also interested in this type of information - are there any authoritative sources for % that should be expected in this kind of analysis?

My copy of Geigy Scientific Tables enumerates blood cell numbers/proportions in a variety of animals, including humans, it's quite old so does not sub-divide on CD phenotyping but a more recent copy may well.

Thanks, I know StemCell table, but I'm not sure I understand their % column.
The problem with the Stemcell chart is that it shows the % among leukocytes, including granulocytes which are not among PBMCs. Therefore, the percentages for lymphocytes are quite low since neutrophils account for a high ratio within leukocytes.
The % Lymphocytes in whole blood is low. You should recover around 1-2 million/ml of whole blood when density separated, majority of granulocytic cells are lost in the process. If you can't calculate numbers from their % contribution then have a look at Wintrobe's Clinicl hematology were they do it for you.
