Can you provide articles' link indicating association between COVID-19 infection and P53 degradation? The article you shared is showing correlation with other strain of coronavirus. So, I do not think cancer spike will have any link with COVID-19 pandemic.
1) Things often times varies from strain to strain.
2) Cancer is multi factorial disease. Blaming covid for it is not fair.
3) So many pathways are contributing in cancer development. Likewise so many pathways and their crosstalks are contributing in avoiding its development.
So its too early to say anything without proper research.

Simian virus 40 protein (SV40‐LT) binds to the DNA‐binding domain of p53 and prevents the activation of p53‐dependent genes. What if we've had this whole pandemic backwards - it's not Coronavirus that's killing people, but a mass outbreak of SV40 that's leaving the population vulnerable to the Corona? We know roughly 15-30% of human populations are infected, either directly or indirectly due to the SV40 contaminated polio vaccines from the 50's. If the SV40 binded DNA interacts with the Corona RNA as it tries to replicate, that could explain not only how this virus is causing cell inflammation and blood clotting, but also why variant strains are becoming so prevalent, due to lack of apoptosis resulting in spontaneous mutations.
