I am new to the field of Fuel cell and working on non-Pt metal catalyst. I want to know how Pt (and some other materials) follow 4 electron transfer while many others (including graphene) follow 2 electron transfer in acidic medium.

If a catalyst gives 4 electron transfer in acid, will it also follows the 4 electron pathway in alkaline medium? If possible, can somebody mention the list of elements/compounds that gives 4 electron transfer (oxygen reduction reaction)?
