Bacterial resistance became a medical emergency because the use and abuse of antibiotics has become prevalent. For instance, in the US, around 35,000 die from drug-resistant diseases and at least 2.8 million people become infected with the disease. Furthermore, the coexistence of inadequate new antibiotics and increasing antibiotic resistance raised a big problem as only 8 out of 51 newly developed antibiotics can treat antibiotic resistance (Cui et al., 2021). With this, new strategies to treat diseases are greatly needed. Potential drugs for drug resistant bacteria were cultivated and studied.
