I need someone to please enlighten me more on the operationalization of variables, relating it to objectives and research question formulation, as well as literature review. Thanks in advance
I would need more information to provide a better suggestion. However, from what you have written, I assume that you are interested in quantitative research. You already have a theory that would guide you in the conceptualization of your research. To me operationalization is the reduction of your conceptual framework in measureable components. For example, if you are interested in learning about self-efficacy of individuals, you use a theory or model that delineates the potential factors that capture self-efficacy. You operationalize those factors for study perhaps by developing a new scale or using a scale to measure self-efficacy. Once you have the data you analyze the data based on the theoretical assumptions of your chosen theory and then generate inferences about the studied population.
I would suggest looking at some simple examples. When I teach statistics from scratch I get my students to stick some blu tac on a coin and investigate whether it changes the ratio of heads and tails. The null hypothesis is the coin is unbiased. The variable being measured is the number of heads tossed, e.g. after 20 tosses.
