On similarity of two chaotic systems?

Firstly, Is the mathematical model of a chaotic system a strong distinguishing feature of the system. Suppose two chaotic systems have different algebraic structures, yet evolve similar attractors, will their topology be the same? Or simply put, are they two chaotic systems the same?

Secondly, what is the role of equilibrium points in distinguishing two different chaotic systems?
