I am linking Comsol with Matlab. I can compute the strain energy density on the nodes of the finite element (Ws) and the unit is J/m^3. But I need the strain energy on each element of the finite element. Please, how can I generate the strain energy on each element of the finite element in Comsol?

Hi,
evaluate it at Gauss points. For the first order discretization of your field, the gradient is element-wise constant and hence represented by one Gauss point per element. Or you can interpolate your nodal results into element results by yourself with some functionalities in Matlab (aka interp3d or something like that).
