dear friends , Is any authenticated data or research is available that shows approximate or exact number of in vitro produced competent embryos lost every year due to unavailability of recipient or other reason in humans , bovines or other species.

At least in humans in is close to zero. Most embryos are either tested for aneuploidies and vitrified or they are vitrified without genetic testing. Most embryo transfers are actually frozen embryo transfers (FETs) because the uterus is more natural for implantation when the patient has not received medications to increase the # of oocytes collected during her IVF cycle. Alternatively, oocyte vitrification also occurs quite often. Therefore, the embryos are not thawed for FET until the patient/recipient is available.
