NLRP3 activation in aortic smooth muscle cells?

We have long been working with aortic smooth muscle cells and stimulated with LPS and have got IL-1beta secretion. However, our system is not working any good right now and we don't get enough stimulation with LPS compared to control. We use 1 ug LPS. Have you got any suggestion? We have tried to use nigericin also in addition to LPS without increment of caspase-1 activation.
