We need to test for chlorates in effluent from a chemical manufacturing company that produces sodium chlorate, and in the receiving environment which is seawater.

Our labs in Canada cannot currently test for chlorate. Is there an alternative parameter such as chlorine-produced oxidants? or have you used any lab methods for this?

Our objective is to ensure that chlorates are not affecting the brown algae (fucus) in the receiving environment.

Thank you.
