Has anyone had success with isolating RNA from FFPE sections that was sufficient in quantity and quality to make cDNA for RT-PCR? If so, what kit/protocol did you use for the RNA isolation, how much tissue did you isolate from, and what kind of RNA yields did you get? To what degree was RNA quality compromised compared to isolation from fresh tissue?

We have conducted single FFPE cell qRT-PCR experiment with success of several genes.
We used RNeasy FFPE Kit from Qiagen to isolate RNA of mouse FFPE islet cells. However, I don’t know if the same procedure could apply to aged FFPE sample since our FFPE sample was freshly prepared and it worked at single cell qRT-PCR.
