If we add bacterial strains on HeLa (Cancer) and CHO (normal) cell lines and adding the antimicrobial in order to see the effect of antibiotic inhibiting the cell lines, will it inhibit the cells and modify the morphology or any other functions of the cells? how will antibiotics mechanism of action vary in both cancerous and normal cell lines? is it possible to detect MIC or MBC of particular drugs in cell line inoculated with bacterial strains? since am very new to cell culture and trying to do a study on pathogens need a little clarifications here please.. i didn't find any relevant materials and if any one could give me the materials or websites where its available etc. would be grateful to me.. thank you all in anticipating greater help you are gonna provided me..

I believe that your model for bacterial infection using cell lines mich be invalid since microbial contamination is prohibited in tissue culture and can't be controlled (bacteria tend to consume media and kills the cells indirectly), in the other hand , if your study aims at determining the cytotoxic effect of antimicrobials using MTT assay (http://www.abcam.com/kits/mtt-assay-protocol).
thank you Abdullah,for your answer sir.. but there are so may published article using the cell lines and studies Sub MIC of antibiotics against the bacteria in cell lines itself.. my another question is that will antibiotics affect the cell lines or kill only the bacteria? and another doubt is what are the major difference we will find between cancerous and normal cells growing in-vitro..

You need to read more about antibiotics first . Normal antibiotic do not effect normal cell or cell lines and when these cell lines are infected with bacteria ,antibiotics which can cross and bind to specific site of bacteria will be effective to kill bacteria but not cell lines ,Chemotherapeutic drugs for cancer have different action per se
