I need to set a media to induce starvation in M. smegmatis. I was reading different media and some of them seems really complicated. Do someone have induced starvation in M. smegmatis? and how?

after your M.smegmatis reach to the log phase, wash the bacterial cells with PBS once and then resuspend in PBS (start with certain definite O.D) and incubate for the desired time.
I discussed with my supervisor and she told me that usually in PBS M. smegmatis lysis. so, at the end we decided to use the Hartmans de Bond medium. Does anyone has ever used this medium? I was looking for commercial solution of it, but apparently i was notae to find them. Anyone knows if it is possible to buy a commercial solution for it?
