You are quite right. Humility is freedom from pride or arrogance. But describing yourself is important. Let's suppose someone asks you, Who are you? You have to respond to him or her by describing yourself. Same is the case in CV. I am a very humble person from deep inside, but I need to describe myself. Its important. Similarly, on ResearchGate, they ask about yourself. You need to describe what you achieved. Bragging means excessively proud and boastful talk about one's achievements or possessions. That's wrong.
