For thirteen years my husband worked at a paper mill, mostly performing jobs in the area of industrial cleaning/preventative maintenance. At the very beginning of his employment at this mill, safety and health were placed in danger, mainly because personal protective equipment (PPE) was not always available, and because safety training was basically non-existent.  Aside from these facts, my husband constantly remained saturated and soiled due.  This was due to the fact that he was mainly required to work in wet and and filthy areas within the mill -- on a daily basis and for extended periods of time (e.g. 12+-hour shifts).
