Hello. I just started doing quantitive research. Now I am conducting one using UTAUT 2 model and structural equation modeling (SEM).

The problem is that I propose 9 IVs here. Adopting the UTAUT 2 model, I am drawing a model with 9 IVs, 7 mediators (e.g., Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, etc.) and one DV. The model seems so complicated, and my arms ache when I write hypotheses, as you can imagine.

During the literature review, I noticed that previous authors either used the 7 variables of UTAUT 2 as IVs, or brought external variables no more than two. Is there any specific reason for it? In my case, am I supposed to break my model into several small ones or just go ahead with the 9-7-1 one? Please share your ideas about it.

Many thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Xuechen
