One of my recent researches aims at providing agricultural and forestry sectors with the Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) variable (unit: mg CO2 m-2 s-1) at spatially (< 1 km) and temporally (1 hour) high resolution. I can provide users with the GPP variable as it is, but I would like to do further processing for more useful application and more people in various fields. Why is the GPP important for you? In what format or unit do you want GPP to be? Any other suggestions or comments are welcome.
In forestry, Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) is directly related to useful parameters like timber production (m3/ha.year), biomass production (t/ha.year) and carbon sequestration (t/ha.year). Carbon sequestration is directly related to CO2 removal from the atmosfere. In forests, timber is the main component of biomass, and usually comprises ony stems. Biomass can comprise only aereal woody biomass, also leaves and/or also roots. Conversión from GPP to these variables changes from ones species to others mainly because of different use and distribution of carbón intake in the components of a tree.
Hi, I am running Noah-MP 3.6 dynamic vegetation now. But I found the vegetation fraction and LAI simulated by it are not correct. For example, vegetation fraction in Shell Creek, US reaches highest around June but simulated vegetation fraction reaches highest during September. Do you have any ideas or similar results? Thank you!
