hi I would like to know your expert opinion on this matter. I have been reading up on podocyte response to mechanical stretch. Most studies wanting to investigate genes upregulated/downregulated in these stretched podocytes involve mainly microarrays or at RNA level.

Would it be worthwhile to peform mass spectrometry on stretched podocytes? will I get any different data or will it be similar? I was hoping that maybe eventhough RNA levels are not changed, the protein synthesis step is changed.
