I am trying to elicit anger in participants in a controlled lab environment. I am not looking for studies involving angry face images, instead, a task which will evoke real anger in subjects, whose temporal development can be studied using EEG.
Can someone suggest methods which have been previously used for such emotion studies?
I'm just curious...have you spoken to your local research ethics board to determine whether they will allow you to elicit anger in subjects? I would do that before worrying about how to elicit anger. HTH.
Well, it depends on your question, but I think you could try to use or adapt a gambling task. Check out the work done by Kornelia Gentsch, Didier Grandjean, and Klaus Scherer because they've used it for ERPs and other measures quite successfully.
