Hi all,
I have been trying to find ways to measure the stability of hydrogel beads but the only way I have found so far is the measure if there are any significant changes in diameter over time.
I would be grateful for any help you could provide in regards to this as I have been reading so many papers but have been unable to find any answers.

You could go micro and you can go macro.
For micro I would apply whatever condition you intend to have the hydrogel withstand and then scanning EM.
if instead you are testing batch stability of hydrogel beads for example you can load them in a small column chromatography setup and run carrier fluid through the beads. If you incorporate fluorescein lectins or quantum dots or other fluorescent reporter that you can embed in hydrogel you can measure the fluorescence of eluted fluid over time.
