As extensive searches so far have not worked, I'm hoping someone out there will help: I'm looking for a large, full-color photo of a Maya ceramic vessel with a lid that depicts in the round a full-figure splayed out red "Mars Beast" complete with hooves, hair (rows of parallel lines) and the recurved snout. It likely appears in an exhibit catalog put out in the last 10-15 years.
Please send the location, or given the absence here of interlibrary loan, a hi-res image.

Hi, Your description sounds like a basal flange lidded bowl with a peccary on the lid. Is that right? Are you thinking of the one found at El Zotz? Here is a picture on the Met's website from its appearance in The Lives of the Gods exhibition. Best, Megan
