Heliyon - Hell no!

This post does not contain a success story like the ones I previously wrote…publications, journal papers, etc.

Failure can occasionally contain energy for triumph. You believe you failed and lost the situation. However, your drive will grow stronger.

My coworkers and I used three pharmacological models to investigate a plant extract's antidiarrheal efficacy.

The results of the analysis, however, pointed to a different biphasic PK/PD, so we decided to hold off on disclosing them and instead give it more time and do the experimental investigation a second time.

We obtained the same result from the later trial after taking into account all precision-related factors.

After the confirmatory trial, we intended to publish our findings and proceeded to work on an article that would be submitted to a journal.

Unfortunately, we crossed paths when looking at a piece of similar work that had been published in the Heliyon journal – Hell no!

The dissatisfaction…

Astonishment and despair prevailed...

What a coincidence! I realize this piece is not particularly upbeat, but occasionally experimental research will teach you more than just the facts; it will shape you into a patient, brave, interested, and persistent person.

Next step? We MOVE ON!! 😊
