I would like to detect the trend in groundwater level during pre and post monsoon season using Mann-Kendall test. Can some one help me to execute it in xlstat that
1. I should go for Mann-Kendall trend test or Seasonal Mann-Kendall test
2. Should I calculate exact P-value or auto-correlation
Sitender Malik The MK test commonly used in place of a parametric linear regression analysis, which can be used to test if the slope of the estimated linear regression line is different from zero. The regression analysis requires that the residuals from the fitted regression line be normally distributed, the MK test is a non-parametric (distribution-free) test. I think you have to use MK trend test and Also go through the attachment, It would be helpful for you.

I think if the sample size is less than 50 it can obtain an exact p-value. If it is not possible, a normal approximation is used.
You should use the seasonal Mann-Kendall test only if you want to take into account the seasonality in the time series.
For example, if you have monthly data with seasonality of 12 months, the test will help you tol find out if there is a trend from one month of January to another, and from one month February and another, and so on. In this case, you need to enter the value 12 in the Period field which represents number of lags between two seasons. To calculate the p-value of this test, the software uses a normal approximation.
For the classical MK test, it can calculate an exact p-value if there are no ties in the series and if the sample size is less than 50. If an exact calculation is not possible, a normal approximation is used.
