How to draw LULC map of Faridabad for 2000, the google earth image is not at good resolution and landsat 7 imagery is not as sharp?im using classified supervision.
Ravi Dabral. LULC mapping requirements vary widely between the needs and specifications of the LULC. These requirements will dictate the levels of classes that will distinguishable. The resolution plays an important role for sure. Nonetheless, other factors such as band information to differentiate LULC are very important. Functional requirements of LULC must be carefully considered in determining the resolution and other satellite imagery specification. It is very difficult to answer such a broad question. It will help if you provide enough context, purpose and other functional requires and other challenges, experts will be able to help you out with some directions. Good luck.
You could try to download a good quality Landsat 7 ETM+ image. You also could apply machine learning to classify LCLU using QGIS or ArcGIS. On the other side, eCognition is one of the best software in image segmentation and image classification. Good luck.
None of the Landsat imageries can provide you with the exact classification unless you try different band combinations.
You can use the visualization parameters as 3 bands(RGB) with a band combination of B6, B5, and B3. It will be quite easier to identify the land classes.
Just take the help of the base map to identify the classes that are not exactly visible in Landsat imagery.
