In my present experiment, the above stays true. But, as the sorbent dosage is further decreased and the metal concentration increased, qe or metal uptake decreases. What could be the possible explanation for this?
I have tried to get a valid explanation from literature, But all seem to explain the same concept of " higher metal uptake at lower dosage" and its justification.
I would be grateful if someone could answer my question with justification. It would be appreciated if a suitable valid literature could be attached along.

In conclusion, adsorption amount (not capacity) decreases by increasing the adsorbent dose simply because they have an inverse relationship as can be seen in the aforementioned equation.

On increasing of sorbent dosage the percentage of dye removal increases , but adsorption density decreases . This might due to the number of available adsorption sites increases by increasing the sorbent dosage and it therefore causes an increase in the percentage of dye adsorbed . decreasing in adsorption density with increasing in the sorbent dosage may attribute to unsaturation of adsorption sites through the adsorption process .Also, The inter-particle interaction( aggregation) resulting at high sorbent dosage which lead to a decrease in both the total surface area of the adsorbent and adsorption density.
Thank you for the answers. So no matter how small the dosage, irrespective of metal concentration, the adsorption amount increases. Does it not reach a saturation point or stay constant after a particular lower dosage but higher metal concentration.
