I recently came across several articles like this one https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlepdf/2018/cp/c7cp06274e
in which the authors simply mix the powders in a solution and evaporate it to obtain heterojunctions. Is it really possible to obtain good electrical/electronic contact in this manner without even reaching close to re-crystallization temperature of even one of the compounds ? And how are these materials even stable ?
Preparation of ZnO-TiO2/PANI composite solution The synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were mingled into TiO2 nanoparticles to obtain homogeneous solution with different molar ratios of ZnO:TiO2 (1:0, 4:1, 3:2 and 2:3). Finally, PANI; weight present (0 wt.%, 3 wt.%, 5 wt.% and 10 wt.%) were added to ZnO-TiO2 (3:2) composite solution and denoted as ZT0, ZT3, ZT5 and ZT10, respectively. Then ZnO, TiO2, ZT0, ZT3, ZT5 and ZT10 composite solutions were spin coated on a corning glass substrate mantaining a thickness of 300 nm of the thin film for all the solutions. The prepared films were pyrolyzed at 100 °C to evaporate the precursor. Further the prepared films were stabilized by annealing at 300 °C for 3 h. The Inter Digital Electrodes (IDEs) were prepared by photolithographic technique (platinum electrode) and studied the gas sensing response characteristics toward LPG/ NO2 gas.
