Hello all,
I am interested in studying the trend of how African indigenous Political knowledge and pre-colonial systems have progressed or regressed from antiquity to present day. I want to see if such trends establish some relationships to explain and understand the state of political institutions in Africa today. My hypothesis is that through such a study we can better understand the central challenges of African governance, and as well as find alternative systems and innovative answers to Africa's political problems. Now, I am well aware that Africa is not a country, so forgive the very blanket statement, this is to say that I am willing to centre my study on any country that offers an interesting outlook to the issue in question. That being said I am from East Africa and it would be especially interesting for me to zero in on a country there or just find a doable way of covering that region even. Any thoughts on topics and papers that I could look at to form my thoughts for this end will be well appreciated.
