Hello! I'm an undergrad/post-bacc and I am looking to study something very specific for a PhD. Practically all the literature on the subject is from researchers outside the US, but I don't know if I'm adventurous to apply to an overseas program. Does anyone have any leads on a PI somewhere in the US that I could research the ability of white rot fungal proteins to degrade plastic, with an emphasis on engineering to increase enzyme efficiency and carbon incorporation into the chitin.
I know it's very specific. I've found a few labs at Berkeley that seem like a good fit, but for obvious reasons, I need some backups! Thanks!
