There are many things to consider before you assemble a full (Lithium-ion battery) cell by analyzing as a 1st priority the half[1,2] cell (anode) electrode reactions.

If we want to simplify, then start measurements using the (anode electrode based) half cell configuration[1], before a full cell testing, when you investigate the (nominally) anode materials for a full (Lithium-ion battery) cell.

In short: simply, make[1] the simple(r) 2-electrode configuration[1], as a debugging half cell, having less complexity than a full cell; detect better a possible error in your slurry method, preparatory, steps in your composite materials' characterizations.

So, make the (half) cell:

(-)Li-metal // Li-electrolyte // "anode" (+)[3].

3. Your (nominally) "anode" electrode, for a full cell, is : "TiO2: Carbon Black: PVDF)//metal-substrate".

Initially, you can start, also, with an alternative metal-substrate: Al -foil, as a 1st characterization phase; if it works, then replace Al with Cu (2nd characterization phase), towards/for a full cell study.
